Muchu Chhish

Muchu Chhish is a named point on the Batura Wall in the Hunza Karakoram, 7,453 m. Prominence is only about 260 m, so it is a subsidiary of the Batura ridge, not an independent 7000er. For years it was still called the highest unclimbed summit that a permit could reach, because Gangkhar Puensum is closed.The usual line is the south ridge used by Poles in 1983 to climb Batura V and VI, then a long traverse east along the crest above 7,200 m. Spanish climbers reached 6,650 m in 1999. Czech parties tried in 2020, 2021, and 2023; one team turned around about 250 m below the top.On 5 July 2024 Zdeněk Hák, Radoslav Groh, and Jaroslav Bánský reached the summit after six days alpine-style from the south ridge onto the wall.
